ABOUT ME

Becky Piazza, MS, OTR/L, BCPR is the Clinical Coordinator of Therapy and the student coordinator at UF Health Shands Rehab Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Becky specializes in adult inpatient rehabilitation and has been a practicing occupational therapist within adult physical dysfunction since 2001.  She additionally coordinates “Gator Amps”, an active support group for the limb loss community recognized by the Florida Hospital Association and hosted by UF Health Shands Rehab Hospital.  Becky has led multiple hospital quality initiatives for patient care improvement in addition to facilitation of the hospital's successful CARF accreditation.

Becky received her bachelor's in occupational therapy from the University of Florida in 2001.  She received her post professional master’s degree in occupational therapy from San Jose State University in 2014 and is currently pursuing her post professional clinical doctorate in occupational therapy from Chatham University (expected graduation December 2018).

 

As a former University of Florida cheerleader, Becky enjoys her role as a cheerleader for independence amongst clients, colleagues and students, building capacity and enthusiasm for Living Life to the Fullest!  She especially enjoys bringing the OT community together to raise awareness of occupational's distinct value in Gainesville and beyond.
